' Description OPS is a patented solution that combines a unique orientation of a three-way speaker system and a ported enclosure to provide coherent, omnipresent and nearly flat sound reproduction across the 20-20kHz range. This is achieved without exotic materials for the speaker elements or expansive dynamic crossover circuitry. Omnipresent coherent sound: In a traditional speaker system off-axis response degradation and directionality are assumed as inviolable rules. OPS have neither of these restraints. Sound waves are propagated from a virtual point source omni presently throughout the spatial listing environment. These sound waves are both phase and time coherent in an overall spherical radiation pattern from the point source. The phase cohesion has the effect of reducing the distortion that is caused in traditional speakers by the induced resonance of out phase reflection. The elimination of this distortion makes the speaker elements more efficient and reduces the variable peaks and valleys in the frequency response of the elements when they are so affected. The second effect that coherent sound provides is to extend the channel separation normally optimized for a " sweet spot" listening area to almost any location within the listening environment. The fact that each speaker in the stereo system is phase coherent eliminates the phase cancellation that occurs in a non-coherent implementations thereby providing the listener excellent channel separation regardless of listening position.
